Chris Franz, age 70, and his wife Tina Weymouth, age 71, both of New York City, took to Facebook to describe the crash on Route 1 (Post Road) near the border of the Town of Fairfield and Bridgeport.

"Two weeks ago tonight I was driving on the Post Road, U.S. Route 1 with Tina Weymouth when we were struck head-on by a drunk driver who was driving on the wrong side of the road," Franz wrote on Facebook on Sunday, March 27.

Incredibly, Franz said, they were able to walk away from the collision. Although Weymouth -- also a Talking Heads member -- suffered three fractured ribs and a fractured sternum.

"She’s been in a lot of pain but she will get better with time," Franz wrote. "I give thanks to our guardian angels and to the Ford Motor Company for building a car that protected us from getting killed."

For those who aren't Talking Heads fans, they were an alternative rock group that hit it big in the 70s with such hits as "Psycho Killer," and "Burning Down the House."

The group was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2002 for their vast body of work.

Franz didn't hang up the drum sticks with the end of the Talking Heads. He went on to form his current group the Tom Tom Club with Tina.

He's also a huge Fairfield County fan and has owned homes in Fairfield, Southport, and Westport.
